Chowk Ingredients
- Fenugreek seed
- Cumin seeds
- ~1/2 tbl spoon turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- mustard seeds
- curry leaves
- dash of hing (Asafoetida)
- oil
- 1 cup of water
Preperation Can be prepared ahead of time.
- Roast spices in oil for ~2 min.
- Once cool add water to expedite cooling.
Ingredients
- 2 cup youghurt
- 1 cup besan (chichpea flour)
- 3-4 cups water, should be watery to start
- salt
- lime (important)
- optional (spinach, onion, other vegs)
Preperation
- Combine youghurt, besan and water.
- Add to the chowk
- Bring to boil while stirring. (Stir to prevent youghurt from spreading)
- Once at boil...
- Add salt.
- Cook for 30-45 min until raw flavor is gone.
- Add lime juice (important).
